STEAM SPIDER
The steam spider will be powered by a small steam engine and constructed of 12-gauge steel. This one is laser cut from sheets of PETG plastic that is roughly the same thickness and powered by parts from a radio control tank. The cannon, turret, and elevation mechanisms from the tank may be added to a future model. Shooting 6 mm plastic balls could have some entertainment value.
Other options being considered include a small flamethrower, bottle rocket launcher with laser sight, or small video camera.

The joints consist of the flanged brass bushings and clevis pins. Four pieces of #25 chain and 12 sprockets are used in the power train. Each side operates independantly. The plastic pieces are joined with acrylic solvent.
